[META] A word... (lemmy.sdf.org)

First of all, thank you for sending me the first reports I've ever received as a mod. Very exciting!

But listen.

I'm not a super serious guy. I let a lot slide. If you're posting in one of my communities, know that you have A LOT of leeway for fun and personal expression.

But one thing I won't tolerate is low effort trolling. I demand effort. If you're spinning a yarn or trying to misrepresent yourself, or the situation, I demand to be entertained by it.

That is all. Thank you for attending my TED Talk.

I waited so long to come forward and tell my story because I didn't think anyone would believe me. But now I want people to know what happened to me, because if knowing what happened to me could prevent it happening to them, then I want them to know.

this is where i draw the line

i sold my soul for a shitpost idea when i had writers block one time but i draw the line at signing away my rights just to share those great ideas when i could just get new temporary numbers my friends and family havent blocked yet and text them my content instead

its a catch 22 really

agreeing to the .world tos means promising not to do any misinformation but i also have to promise that i can clearly understand and comply with said terms and that itself would be a lie so what am i supposed to do

i wont stand idly by

theyre doing it right out in the open i dont know the laws over there but here in america we have a movie about purging people and folks have widely agreed that it is bad to kill in this fashion

!nostupidquestions@lemmy.world has the most stupid mods. The thread was full of extremely useful information, and was well upvoted. However, they certainly know better than their own community! Imagine wiping a whole thread full of knowledge, because you NEED to moderate something so bad.

They banned him too, for daring to speak out against the plutocracy.

For the record I was posting in support of inclusive language, but pointing out that context and convention matter.

They seem to have even scrubbed my comment from their instance, lol.

I was told there were no stupid questions.

Some guy I've never heard of who owns a federated universe server I've never heard of banned all 26 of his server's users from participating in the ongoing election because someone reported me to myself that he felt uninformed about the election.

I want to make this VERY clear. I am extremely progressive, way far left. Kamala Harris is the only sane choice, I'm voting for her. BUT we still have to try and get her to change bad policies like her promise to continue funding genocide. Apparently, that way of thinking will get you kicked out of certain echo chambers ran by corrupt mods like WrenFeathers and JonsJava. The first comment was in response to someone praising Biden like he doesn't also have Palestinian blood on his hands. And I apparently always have to reiterate that Dildo Tramp is 1000x worse and might actually kill us all by accident or on purpose.

You've got people like this moderator of World News and quite a few other communities issuing bans and removals for things like "Genocide Denial" on any comments that are somewhat moderate or centrist around the longstanding Israel/Palestine conflict. Absolutely sickening to me. There has been NO proven genocide. There are no facts to back that up. This is complete bias and suppression of freedom of speech.

This platform will never succeed if moderators with huge bias are with unchecked power. It's reputation is already in the gutter as an extreme radical leftist platform. And unfortunately, I see that is very true.
