Hello everyone. This is gonna be a long post so bear with me :)

I have managed to build a new PC. Specs below:

  • Motherboard: Asrock X670E Steel Legend
  • CPU: Ryzen 7800x3d
  • CPU Cooler: beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4
  • RAM: 2 x 16 GB GSKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB 6000 MHZ CL30 (memory in the QVL list of MB)
  • GPU: RTX 4070
  • PSU: Corsair RM850X

Some info / issues:

1 - first boot was long. I didn't knew if I did something wrong but after 2 minutes, the system booted to BIOS

2 - BIOS version was 1.21 ( 2023/4/27 )

3 - I have updated the BIOS to the latest version: 1.28 (2023/7/28)

4 - Again, the first boot took some time.

5 - Adjust the RAM PROFILE TO 6000 MHZ, saved BIOS and exited, again the PC took a long time to boot.

6 - Adjusted the Curve Optimizer -30 to all cores, again the PC took a long time to boot. At one point I even reset the BIOS because I didn't know how long to wait.

7 - Memory context restore is enabled by default

Some more info:

  • CPU Temperature: maximum recorded temp was in CB: 84C. (WITHOUT curve optimizer it reaches 89c)
  • CPU frequencies: all cores boost to ~5ghz WITH CO -30 on all cores
  • Cinebench score: 18200
  • CPU SOC voltage: It never exceeds 1.24V. I manually tried to change to 1.2 but the PC didn't boot or I didn't wait enough? I reset the BIOS and left it on auto...
  • cold start boot time: ~26s
  • restart boot time: ~17s
  • 7800x3d is the most efficient gaming CPU you can have!

Questions:

a - When I change specific CPU / RAM settings, the PC boots very slow to the point that you don't know if something is froze. It makes you want to shutdown the PC and reset the BIOS...

b - How can I improve the boot times?

Thanks!

So, I'm looking to undervolt my 5800x3d. I have seen a guide on github of a program called pbo2 tuner, but I have also seen that in my bios I can activate that option.

Which do you recommend guys? Is there a difference between both options?

Hello!

First post of today and first build in years :)

I have managed to complete my build. Summary:

MB: Asrock X670E Steel Legend - BIOS 1.28 (manually updated)

RAM: GSKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB 6000MHZ CL30

CPU: Ryzen 7800x3d

I have enabled EXPO profile in BIOS - 6000MHZ.

Issues:

1 - First boot take a lot of time

2 - Cold boot: ~25s, restart boot: ~15s

3 - Whenever I save specific BIOS settings for RAM / CPU, saving and exiting BIOS takes several minutes (or freezes, you don't even know when to shutdown the PC)

Question:

If I configure the memory timing manually, it should improve the boot times?

Thanks!

Trying to find a reference card but can’t seem to find them available online. Anyone know where I can find one IN CHINA. I am located in Shanghai. I prefer this card for the size.

PS— if you know where I can find one in China (Shanghai) even better!

It sounds exactly the same situation as locking RIS into drivers for 5000 series only back in the days.

Change my mind.

I know that we don’t know everything about the technology, but I’ve seen some Youtubers say things like specific features actually are locked to 7000 gpus. I’m just confused and I can’t seem to wrap my head around it all.

Based on what we know now, which of FSR 3’s features would be available to my RX 6700s?

Is there a way to get a Ryzen 9 7000 series case sticker? I have looked at ebay, Etsy and damn near every other place I can think of to find one. There are series 5000 stickers but no 7000 ones. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I am in the market for a new GPU and currently running 2080TI since launch on a 3440x1440p 120hz, This card got really slammed when it was released for its price but I actually think it aged like fine wine (I know this saying more fitting with AMD products) but if you think about it, DLSS got super good with recent versions and if Frame gen From AMD will work even like 10-20% better frames then 2080TI will have an extreamly long life with its 11GB of Vram.

On the other hand I will still need a new GPU soon to drive 4K 120hz and 7900XTX with Frame Gen looks like a much better deal compare to 4090 at 1600USD.

Overall, I'm super excited for FG.

I have an ayaneo 2s and it sucks because I have an egpu that takes amd drivers and I can’t really use it due to the amd drivers constantly trying to override the ayaneos preview 7840u drivers

I rolled back to July's and its working like it should. Just a little FYI.

By invert I mean every time you use the color corrector to do anything, just by placing it on a video it will invert the color. This was an issue almost a year ago and its back.

What is the state of AMD GPUs running stable diffusion or SDXL on windows?

Rocm 5.6.0 is out and supported on windows now. Amd even released new improved drivers for direct ML Microsoft olive. But does it work as fast as nvidia in A1111? Do I have to convert checkpoint files to onnx files? And is there difference in training?

I have no experience with stable diffusion but I am reading about it cause i want to buy a new gpu (i have rx480 now).

I would like to buy 7900xtx because of 24 gb memory to future proof for bigger models.

I don't want to support nvidia. Thanks

Does anybody have a stabke overclock for this card that supports a max clock of 2800mhz or higher? I'm running a 2700mhz one and it's amazing, but i just want to see how far this thing can go without toasting itself(a good overclock for my R9 3900x would be nice too to pair with it, i just have that on auto oc from Ryzen Master) i have 13 case fans and plenty of airflow, thermals arent a problem for me

EDIT here are current settings in Adrenalin for my 6900XT

GPU TIMING min: 2600 max: 2700 mv: 1110

VRAM TUNING memory timing:, fast timing mamory frequency: 2150

POWER TUNING power limit max at 15%

SAM AMD Smartaccess Memory ON
