I just checked the site today and found it to be still functional.

Mozilla forgot to pull the plug? /s

Does Firefox have a good way to see how big a page is with all the images and other media that are embedded in it? I know about the Page Info button, but i think that only tells me the size of the page's HTML file and loaded media separately. As far as i can tell, it doesn't measure external CSS at all. And the numbers it does give me for my own site are different from the numbers i see from my computer's file browser on my local backup of my website. So is there a good way to know how big a page i visit is?

TLDR; As you (might) know there is no default bookmark folder on Firefox Android. This is bad if you have Sync enabled, because it means that FF will use the last Desktop folder you saved a bookmark into. This means that you don't know where your bookmarks are going, when you want them to go to your Mobile bookmarks folder. Please upvote the thread on Firefox Connect if you think there should be a default, separate bookmark folder on Firefox Android. TIA

I've never heard of anyone using Thunderbird, but I hear about other Firefox users all the time.

I want a new email place. FUCK GMAIL 💥 FUCK GOOGLE! I had to use MS Office for work once, it was okay. Better than Gmail by a mile. But you seriously think I'm gonna use Microsoft? Well, what else is there? If Thunderbird is alright I think I should give it a try.

I also need to find a way to make a new not-gmail email domain. No idea where to go for that. Uh, does Thunderbird have anything?

Saw this TUI (UK travel agency) advert today on the new tab page, and uBlock Origin can't block it

Firefox seemingly very recently shipped their own titlebar controls buttons, which worsens even further the lackluster OS integration. In the screenshot you see my regular control buttons on the window to the left (default KDE Plasma theme) and the new custom buttons Firefox is serving now.

Would anyone know how to undo that change in about:config or anywhere else?

Mozilla officially refuse to support UnifiedPush, which was incredibly exciting and something I was eager to see land.

There's three main things I've noticed. These things only started happening after Mozilla's change in leadership. While they have announced more features since then, I feel like the quality control has gone down a bit.

  1. Even with the sidebar disabled, the sidebar will show on the side of the screen for half a second after launching Firefox
  2. Sometimes, the "x" buttons on tabs will stop working. I have to middle-click the window to close it or close that window and open a new one
  3. The AI popup often gets in the way when selecting text. I think it would be nicer to have it show up in the right click menu after selecting text. I disabled the AI so it won't show up since I never really used it anyways.

Is there a firefox extension that disable the web connection of other extensions?

Starting in Firefox 138, Mozilla started gating Firefox Labs features behind data collection.

Mozilla had announced that some new Firefox features would be released via Firefox Labs.

It is now a few hours since I posted, and there is reason to celebrate – Mozilla is updating Firefox Labs to let people access features without needing to enable data collection.

It's just giving me a list of 'recommended' addons. How do I find the ones that aren't recommended?

Terrible design, by the way. This was definitely made just to make developers' lives easier.

Fix: I was using an older version by mistake. Updating shows the option to get more addons than just the recommended ones at the bottom.

Kind of weird it wasn't included for awhile.

Solution: I found this this bugzilla comment which links to this page for time formatting. I changed intl.date_time.pattern_override.time_short to h:mm a so it shows 4:26PM. There's an open bugzilla report for my issue: Date not formatted according to user's locale (LC_TIME).

For instance, 4:26PM instead of 16:26, I'm on linux (NixOS) if that helps.

After I noticed Firefox has removed the Pocket branding but kept the Pocket stories, I also noticed the settings screen on the homepage no longer lets you disable sponsored stories or links.

Firefox 115:

Firefox 139:

You can still remove these advertisements, but you have to leave the homepage and dig through the settings to find that option.

I created an extension adding a “Similar repositories” section to the sidebar of any public GitHub repository with more than 150 stars. It allows you to discover related open-source projects without leaving the page.

It's also open-source! https://github.com/Mubelotix/SimRepo

Is anyone else having an issue of the back button being greyed out after clicking a link?

I will do a google search, click on a site, then I have to redo the search as I can't go back? It may be happening on other sites, but I am especially noticing it after google searches.

I tried regular Firefox and nightly both show such usage. I'm mostly reading up on news, Twitter and browsing this site.
