Like crewless, zero crew. There isn't even any flight attendants.

Pilots are just an AI Autopilot and flight attendants are all just robots.

So recently I found out that google lens allows you to use a lens overlay to read news apps that are not in English. An example being "The Conversation" app.

I would like to trial it on other news apps from Europe and Asia. At the moment Australia's world news is focused on America and the wars. Nothing incredibly wrong about receiving this news beause it is a concerning and scary time. I just would feel more comfortable knowing I had other options to learn about current affairs and not have langue to be a barrier to entry.

World news apps are fine but ideally ones without a paywall. I want to make a little list to look through. Thank you!

American here. Granted, the tea stands on its own merit. But if not for TNG I probably would still be drinking standard Lipton like my parents did.

Hi. I'm new here after becoming completely frustrated with Reddit.

I'm looking to share artwork for stickers and flyers of a political nature, and would like to find find good communities for that.

My questions are; are there more communities than the ones listed in the "Communities" tab/link at the top of the page and is there a community devoted to noob questions?

I'm a 3rd year medical student and I've already been caught off-guard a few times by the WILD medical misinformation my patients talk about, and figured that I should probably get ahead of it so that I can have some kind of response prepared. (Or know what the hell they've OD'd on or taken that is interfering with their actual medications)

I'm setting up a dummy tablet with a new account that isn't tied to me in any reasonable way to collect medical misinformation from. I'm looking at adding tik tok, instagram, twitter, reddit, and facebook accounts to train the algorithms to show medical misinformation. Are there any other social media apps or websites I should add to scrape for medical misinformation?

Also, any pointers on which accounts to look for on those apps to get started? I have an instagram account for my artwork and one for sharing accurate medical information, but I've trained my personal algorithm to not show me all the complete bullshit for the sake of my blood pressure. (And I have never used tik tok before, so I have no goddamn clue how that app works)

In my experience learning online is way more effective and efficient.

Why it is not the default option for universities?

Hi everyone,

I've been a single-server built from whatever desktop I upgraded for years kind of guy, with a hostname of the street it is on (better than server, which is what it used to be).

However, at some point in the future my home lab will be located in a place I will not have immediate access to, and since it's getting on in age and due for an upgrade anyway, I'm going to build in some redundancy. So, current names:

  • OPNsense micro-router: ingress01
  • OPNsense backup: ingress02
  • Cluster micro-server with essential services: cluster01
  • Cluster micro-server with non-essential services and replicated essential services: cluster02
  • NAS: nas
  • Powered on remotely when needed:
    • Mac mini dev/release box: macmini
    • Primary remote development server (basically my old desktop): desktop

Bring on the Mini-MacMinifaces, and any other ideas you have.

Got an email that says "please pay $33 + shipping to get a t-shirt with our ad on it"

There's people that would actually pay for something like this? This stuff is usually give away for free at conferences and then used as a sleeping dress, no?

By specific, I mean not general fears like fear of heights or spiders.

I'm interested in a wholesome relationship dynamic where the girlfriend acts as a comforting source of warmth, protection, and abundant physical affection. She's a cozy safe haven, wrapping her boyfriend in adoring hugs and showering him in doting kisses. He's gentle and sensitive, relaxing in her care and taking it all in, responding in an endearing way that fuels her nurturing.

It seems like the Internet's idea of a "strong" female presence in a hetero relationship is a dominant/submissive coercive femdom dynamic. That's not what I want at all; I want to see a female character who is eager to lead out of a loving desire to snuggle and care for her boyfriend—she wants to protect him, not exploit him. There is also no power imbalance or one-sidedness; while the girlfriend's doting affection is a defining feature, the boyfriend happily initiates and reciprocates affection as well. There are lots of open heartfelt exchanges, and it's all so subversively tender that it feels taboo.

I have never seen a relationship like this depicted anywhere. It took months of introspection and creative writing to work out the essence of my preferred dynamic and understand that labels like "gentle femdom" or "gender role reversal" utterly fail to capture the nuances of what I truly want. The romance novel and adult video industries almost completely alienate me. It feels like there is nothing for me, or at least no way to easily find it in the vast cosmos of the Internet.

It would be wonderful to find something, a book, some kind of show or movie, an obscure Internet board... really anything to scratch this constant itch that I have. Despite my mediocre skills, my own writing vastly outstrips any media I've seen so far. I'd love to see something made by someone more professional.

And yeah, mayyyybe I've dodged a bullet by being immune to the endless piles of sex appeal industry slop and provocative ads that deactivate the frontal lobe, but sometimes I want in on the fun too.

It’s ironic that I listen mostly to songs without lyrics but often mentally imagine lyrics for many of those songs.

I gave up trying to upload an actual photo and just took a photo of my dinner because I can’t post without a photo. Why does it keep giving me an error? I’ve tried different image sizes.

Particularly beer. It's a carbonated liquid. If anything getting the exact portion control you want would be even easier. No longer would there be temptation to round up the amount you want to drink. It would be less wasteful than bottles and more convenient than mini kegs. It would be more economical and would stay as carbonated as soda. About a third of the price of beer is the container. That math is based on looking at the cheapest bottled soda in a store.

And why not coffee? Just buy all the coffee you need at once with no steps needed. If you make iced coffee with it its going to be fine. Big coffee wants you to buy a product from them every day, because they can make more money from you. You aren't buying your milk per drink? Why should you buy any liquid per drink or with extra packaging?

Buying anything every day is stupid. Just buy the finished product in a volume where you are taken care of for the week. It's how you buy anything else. Products should be sold in a way where you can accomplish that with minimum packaging.

I'm about to start my 12 week paternity leave next week thanks to a state program and almost everyone that I've told has had their jaws on the floor that I would even want to do that.

Today I witnessed a group of coworkers almost bragging how little time they took after their kids were born. I've heard stuff like "Most men are hard working and want to support their families so they don't take leave".

To me it was a no brainer, I'm getting ~85% of my normal pay and I get to take care of my wife, our son and our newborn for 3 whole months. and for someone who hasn't taken a day breathe in the past 3 years I think I deserve it.

I'm in the US so I know it's a "strange" concept, but people have seemed genuinely upset, people it doesn't affect at all. Again, it's a state program available to almost anyone who's worked in the past 2 years, I've talked to soon to be dads who scoffed at the idea and were happy to use a week of pto and that's it.

I feel like I'm missing something.

I love Southern fried chicken, and I'm pretty fond of waffles (savoury with bacon and maple syrup, or sweet) but I cannot imagine the combination as working at all.

They're both a little dry on the outside and soft on the inside. It feels like they really don't complement or contrast with each other. I'm sure I'd eat it if I had so alternative, but I can imagine how it is a classic American paring. I'd much rather have fries, slaw, or potato salad which all seem to offer a creamy or crunchy contrast.

Am I missing something? People who like it, what's good about it? Is the secret lots of maple syrup? Are the waffles different that usual? Is it not actually that popular? I'm a decadent European, so I can't just go somewhere and try them myself.

I’ve seen some friends that keep their places like caves; all curtains and blinds closed with maybe some lights on. Some even going so far as to put up foil and completely blocking out light. I like having blinds and curtains open with maybe just a sheer curtain to diffuse the light but I enjoy it being bright. So how do you like your space lit with natural light?
