Quick! Check if the pizza delivery guy knows how to read!

Why doesn’t this meme also show how they’re doing it in prisons?

[–] turddle@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Yeah and I’m wondering how they got this pic of our team’s last record-profits party

[–] keenworld@midwest.social 20 points 2 years ago (1 children)

False, my employer would never also get us breadsticks and dip.

The other day I delivered food to a prison guard I'm pretty sure it was for the inmates

[–] AFaithfulNihilist@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago

Whatever these guys did to earn that, It must have been exemplary. Luxuries like this in prison are few and far between, so we know that these dudes are most likely very well behaved and agreeable.

Yeah, having a pizza party really takes the sting out of being enslaved by the prison industrial complex! 10/10 will be dehumanised again!

[–] MiddleWeigh@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

Wow. These guys must be on a special isolated block or kitchen workers or smth. Good for them, this probably made their day/week/month. That pizza probably felt so good.

They don't even do that at my workplace anymore:(

I've once had a lunch-meeting training session thing... but then learned we were expected to bring our own lunches.
I just left.
Plenty of people didn't see this as a big deal.

Pizza is pizza 🤷‍♂️

[–] Boiglenoight@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Darn straight!

[–] ChatGPT@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

That’s way more pizza than work they would bring one box and watch everyone scramble for it in my experience.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

That's not just for the three of them. That's probably what they supply for scores if not hundreds of prisoners.

[–] tisjoefoo@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Dudes I was with would definitely get after it, but just out of excitement mostly. It’d be gone quick, but I think only like 1 dude that I remember would’ve been a dick about it and we all would’ve been like, “chill tf out, Mark”

[–] baggins@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 years ago

Yea that'll actually work in jail tho

[–] _number8_@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

jail would be pretty chill if they let you have a phone, i think

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeah, because penal slavery is a-ok if you can play candy crush in between the forced labor, the beatings and the dehumanising torture 🙄

Like 99% sure I’ve seen this episode of black mirror

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sounds like something they would and should do, yeah. Such a great show ❤️

[–] ShlorpianMafia@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's an episode where all the 21+ adults live in a labor-camp type facility; the high-energy-producers ride bikes that generate electricity all day and earn points to spend on food/digital rewards/ad skips/etc. It's actually one of the best episodes IMO

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Oh yeah, I remember that one, now that youmention it! It's one of my favourites too!
