Nobody takes them seriously any more. They will happen, but other countries are just diversifying their chains. US companies and people are really the ones who gets affected. Foreign companies, while affected won't be affected as much. With globalisation, the USA is still a large market but most international companies trade globally and the rise of other markets more than makes up for the USA. It's not the 80s.
Some companies that can switch to American supply chains will do great at first while those that can't will suffer. The UD market is big enough that the gangbuster companies will still face competition eventually, so to will be temporary at best. Consumer sentiment will still drop so all companies will suffer a bit.
People will have higher prices and less jobs. Damn that biden. He did this.
