Squid Game Season 3 was mostly great, well... excepts some parts of it.

Watched my house plants grow and die.
I'm watching Show Me A Hero one episode in and I like it so far.
Ironheart. It's Ryan Coogler, so of course I'm in. The first episode was good. The next two are better. Lyric Ross is great and I'm enjoying watching Alden Ehrenreich.
Shiunji Family Children. Done with this. Better than the author's other stuff which isn't saying much. Unfortunately this newest episode just shat the bed with the ending. I'm probably going to start watching Girls und Panzer again to try to overwrite my memory.
Catcher at the Ballpark. Ruriko is my choice for best girl this season. This show hit me in the feels in ways I didn't expect.
It was a very long and stressful week so I've spent most of TV time playing videogames.
Got my ticket for Superman in 2 weeks then Fantastic Four at the end of the month. IMAX 3D. I kinda want to get the Galactus popcorn bucket.
the big Lebowski with the homie yesterday
Started the new season of Squid Game last night. Probably going to finish it up tonight. Really curious to see where they are going to go with the story.
Film:
-
Deep Cover (2025) - thoroughly entertaining, especially Orlando Bloom, but not outstanding in the long term.
-
The Quiet Girl (2022) - beautifully shot and with a great, understated performances. A moving character study.
TV:
Murderbot, Babylon Berlin & Your Friends and Neighbors continue to be as good as ever. Poker Face has gone completely off the wall in season 2, but mostly works.
Sirens picked up a lot after the first episode. It was evidently adapted from a play, and you can clearly see some of the original scenes scattered through it: typically the best ones. There is probably too much filler between them though. Enjoyable overall though.
We watched the first couple of episodes of Stick. The obvious comparison is Ted Lasso, but whereas TL was a comedy with a sport setting, this one is a dramady about sport. Too much sport and too few laughs or worthwhile character beats. Also, too many scenes and too much dialogue that reminded me of Better Call Saul, but not in the same league.
I'm in the middle of mythic quest, hacks, and the bear season 4. Love mythic quest and hacks, the bear is just fine, I like the early seasons a lot better, I can't explain why i'm not as into this season, it just doesn't feel the same.
