Sounds like a group of deplorables to me
Yes - the Democrats would rather lose than risk an actual leftist winning.
And it's really very, very simple - they're corrupt shitweasels who are wholly owned by wealthy donors, and they'll do anything to keep that money flowing into their greedy little fists.
Which is exactly why I think that every leftist in the country has to do whatever they can to make sure that Mamdani wins. Granted that it's not a national race, I still think this is the time for leftists nationwide to take a stand. Now, before it's too late.
The campaign is no longer accepting contributions. What else can we non-New Yorkers do rn?
I have no idea.
I just....
i think the only vague hope we have of stopping America's slide into plutocratic tyranny is a leftist groundswell, and that the single most dangerous and determined enemy of leftism in America today is the Democratic party.
If they can, as they painfully obviously intend, sabotage Mamdani, I don't think there will be any stopping them.
Buy guns
You can probably volunteer to phone bank or something.
Democrats once again proving you know, the thing.
"Why does our name gesture towards democracy?" - frustrated democrats
I am still amazed how Liberals I knew thought I was crazy saying that Dems aren't reluctantly having to embrace right-wing positions because that was the only way they would be elected and pointing out that if a progressive was becoming popular the party would undermine them rather than embrace that they could finally do the LGBTQ rights/abortion rights/taxing the rich/healthcare/etc. that the Dems always wanted to do, but just unfortunately couldn't. I should have moved on after my Bernie phase, but I am still amazed that liberals supposedly live in this reality.
You have an excellent opportunity now to show them a blatant manifestation of this. I was just talking with people earlier today about how the Dem idea is that even if the Dem machine went and supported a progressive platform, it would not be electable, but here we have the Dems and corporate media blatantly working against a progressive platform that has so far beaten them anyway. Surely if the Dems want progress, Mamdani has demonstrated how popular it is in New York, right?
