I’ve only seen SEED and Gundam Wing, so I may not be the best to ask. Both I thought were very entertaining but flawed. The 3D animation in SEED is very bad the first few episodes but it improves, seems like budget went up or something.
It’s actually got quite complex themes and good world building, plot and characters. The mech and ship designs are also cool. Downsides are a bit too much melodrama and the fighting could be a bit better. It’s also always a space tragedy, so you can predict the plot by just assuming the worst will happen. Lots of noble sacrifices and heinous deeds.
People say the original series is the best but I haven’t seen it.
