The European Commission is reportedly in talks to move its cloud services away from Microsoft Azure, according to Euractiv. Per the news outlet, the information came via three senior sources familiar with the matter. Apparently, France-based OVHcloud is the front-runner in these discussions. While other European cloud service providers like IONOS, Scaleway, and Aruba are also being considered.

Until some Microsoft Sales asshole finds the right person to ~~influence~~bribe and this all goes away.

I tried OVH last year as a CDN for out site and the interface and features were either horribly slow or severely lacking. I hope they can use this as an impulse to improve their services. At least the Azure interfaces are also dogslow so not much competition there. Scaleway was pretty good but their support was hopelessly bad and it was too bad they nixed their arm64 offerings.
