It’s especially pathetic in this situation where it’s not purely demonstrations but also literally physically stopping ICE from kidnapping and deporting people.

Unsurprising. The DSA is generally fairly morally consistent (not always) it's just that they think they can somehow change the system from within. "CP"USA is a right wing group masquerading as leftists without any sort of moral or value consistency

what leverage does the peaceful protest have against profit motive, what's the downside of ignoring it

do you want the most monitored org in american to come out and say "actually we should be doing grand acts on terrorism on the government"? like what do you expect them to officially say?

they are saying what every single leftist org needs to OFFICIALLY say come on

PSL has gotten a letter from a sitting US congressman accusing them of supporting terrorism and to keep all their communications for potential subpoena. I don't know I do actually think they need to say it for whatever good optics that gives them. It just seems like such basic, obvious shit for an org like this in America. You have to "play the game."

Where is the line of playing the game though? If an org is effective, no amount of optics will protect it from the state. It is also kind of patronizing to say to people who are acting in self defense against ICE to "not take the bait". Like cmon, we’ve been through this with BLM.
