RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

ChilledChaos on Twitch/YouTube, he plays variety games and I love the social deception games most. His friend group is also really cool so I watch a few of them as well.

Northernlion cause he's the king of banter. The only times he isn't talking about something somewhat interesting on stream is when he's on a bathroom break.

Mr. Sark when he's not playing solo, but i never watch streaming. VOD for me. Also did CritRoll for a while, but just kinda drifted away during campaign 3.

I have never felt any desire to watch any streamer. The closest thing would be watching live baseball, so if that counts I guess my favorite streamer is the Minnesota Twins.

Yep it's not for everyone. I love it for background when I'm lemmying

I like to watch the McElroy brothers stream The McElroy Family Clubhouse on YouTube. It’s like a fun, casual variety show they film through their webcams. It always gets a laugh out of me.

I'm the world's least loyal Twitch viewer. I tend to shop around for streams of any given game I'm currently obsessed with (I have watched my fair share of Disco Elysium streams over the years) but I never really stick around when they move on to a game I don't care about.

On balance over time I guess my answer would be Northernlion, though I really only consume his content via the Library of Letorneau YouTube channel.

i prefer recorded stuff, for the same reason i don't watch linear TV. but i'll link to twitch because that's where everyone is these days.

but Jesse Cox and Dodger are old-guard peeps who are still great. they do a podcast together every week.

The entire Vinesauce team is also great, with Joel and Limes being highlights for basically opposite reasons.

also Lucahjin, Snapcube, and Cakejumper.

oh and Froggy.

I really like Jen is Online she's really fun, positive and caring. She plays games I like to watch.

Vitasynth does really laid back streams and has a good group.

Beckachu does a big range of games, and she's got a good crew of followers.
