Andor is set above the rest of the franchise because the show's writers fundamentally understand fascism. Gilroy and co pull just about everything in the show from real historical events and trends in a way that makes me think more than one of them is a secret Marxist. Just miles above any other attempted political commentary from this dead horse of a franchise

The flip side to what makes Partagaz interesting is that he's not just stern, but that he'll check his own ego and allow himself to be persuaded even if it runs counter to his perspective. I think his comment in episode 6 "Calibrate your enthusiasm" shows that he really despises ass-kissing, and recognizes how destructive would be to the goals of his position and department. It would be admirable if he was serving a better org

It really shows how pathetic fascist society really is, the competition between all the ISB agents resembles that of petty high schoolers trying to one-up each other.

Oh my goodness, so the emperor really doesn't know what's going on with Ghorman. He's gonna be so disappointed. doggirl-gloom

I thought that line was the rebels using Cyril's perceived hatred of the ISB to gaslight him into thinking that by helping them, he is actually helping the Empire. There are probably rebels who hate the Empire, but love the Emperor though, lol.

I believe you're correct, yes.

I got the same impression but it's really interesting how people are interpreting it multiple ways

There's a dang RAISIN in the IMPERIAL PALACE live-slug-reaction

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

I figured it was either that or showing how unserious the Ghorman Front was

Mon Mothma and Bail Organa are set to take the stage on Alderaan for the biggest stop yet in the “Oligarchy Tour” -- to try to wake the galaxy up to the incredible threat we face.

With our democracy fighting for its life as this administration silences working people, stifles dissent, and dismantles the social safety net, Senators Mothma and Organa are bringing every ounce of leadership they’ve got to defeat Director Krennic and Emperor Palpatine.

Our Rebellion is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Senators Mothma and Organa, mobilizing progressive voters and candidates, holding corporate oligarchs accountable, and building a grassroots citizen action team to take on Krennic, Palpatine, and the billionaire class -- but we need your help to do it. Can you chip in today to fuel the rebellion?
