Current approach should cause fear for American business. I think Europe could compete well with US at zero tariffs. Definitely better than their slow or eventual response to high US tariffs.
God I hope so. There are only so many things that I as an American can not support American businesses on.

"Europe is weak and liberal." -> We should join Schengen and drop all tariffs.
