This is why democrats lost. They don't care what their base wants.

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 57 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The republicans fear their base, the democrats loathe their base.

[–] Draces@lemmy.world 51 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Republicans definitely loathe their base

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 week ago

Maybe, but the fear prevents them from expressing as much; they regularly change their positions and messaging to match whatever the rabid hogs that make up the core of their base are baying for.

Meanwhile democrats see it as a virtue to stand up to their base. West Wing has done irreparable damage to their brains.

that because republicans will stop voting for them in a hearbeat; while democrats will also vote blue no matter who ... and what.

[–] Draces@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Dems literally just lost because their base didn't show up what are you talking about?

Did DNC lose if most pro Israel candidate won?

[–] RymrgandsDaughter@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Exactly, this is why Chuck and Jefferies are making these plays while AOC is literally campaigning with an Independent candidate.

This is why Marshals weren't sent after Trump

This is why no Cases against election tampering were brought up. And no recount was called.

This is why Korne, these ridiculous illegal deportations, and near complete obliteration of the federal government is allowed.

Because Kamala could not have gotten away with letting Israel go hog wild like this. Corpo Dems can save face by saying that was Trump!

But Schumer is an idiot and he basically admitted that what Netanyahu is doing is what the Corpo Dems wanted. Between his goofy ass book tour and his "My job is to make sure the DNC stays pro-Isreal" it's all laid out in the open.

He's hoping the strangle hold idea that "we can't make or split the party" will keep the party together and behind his leadership. But if AOC said tomorrow that she was starting a new party because that DNC leadership will no longer oppose Trump and laid out proofs. I'd jump ship immediately. I'm hoping she and other get enough momentum that the party can fracture. Because that is the only way to get the country back, a complete rejection of Corpos.

This is why Marshals weren’t sent after Trump

Before Oct 7th, thinking was Trump would be best opponent to prop up. We'd have a better democracy if he was in military prison/trials he couldn't indefinitely delay, or he had fallen out of a window.

no Cases against election tampering were brought up. And no recount was called.

Big evidence of DNC being pro Trump, or not enough zionist funding against election rigging.

illegal deportations, and near complete obliteration of the federal government is allowed.

Not sure I see the link to Israel there. CIA propaganda defunding would be neutral. Foreign policy abuses are likely designed to control genocide tolerance. All colonies have distanced further from Russia and China. Peace against Russia, has explicitly cited "meeting point victories" for controlling Iran.

Because that is the only way to get the country back, a complete rejection of Corpos.

US elections require massive money. Actual "only way out" is to declare Zionism a hate group, and invalidate citizenship/office of any politician supporting zionism, and zero out wealth of any donors/media supporting them. It is only path to neutralize money that is used to brainwash us.

Because Kamala could not have gotten away with letting Israel go hog wild like this.

We should have ruined her day by electing her president. We let her lose, and now she's laughing at us. We played right into her trap.

You can't even become a candidate if you haven't bowed down on that AIPAC stage pledging allegiance and unconditional support.

[–] Bloomcole@lemm.ee 8 points 1 week ago

Apparently 'embrace patriotism' an 'removing too left wing elements' is what they base want.
That's their plan.

[–] TheThrillOfTime@lemmy.ml 94 points 1 week ago (3 children)

America's so stupid this man is considered left.

Someone asked me how much I liked Comrade Chuck. I could only blink

[–] cooperativesrock@lemm.ee 27 points 1 week ago

He is not considered left by actual leftist Americans. We know he's a corporate shill.

His job is to keep the left pro-genocide?

Lord, I hate establishment Dems.

[–] blank_the_blank@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I don't think you've been paying much attention then. Both parties have the same masters.

[–] Wuorg@50501.chat 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I'm not sure I follow. Did you mean to reply to a different comment?

Just in case: "I hate establishment Dems." =/= "I like Republicans." I have enough disdain in my heart for both. The post is about an establishment Dem, so that's what my comment was about too. I was directly replying to Chuck's remarks that "(his) job is to keep the left pro-Israel."

Anyone got a non-paywalled source for this? Chucky’s not usually this mask-off

Thanks for the ladder @Gem

President Trump accused him of being “a Palestinian” who was “not Jewish anymore.” A few days later, Schumer decided to postpone his book tour after joining Republicans to support a stopgap spending bill to avoid a government shutdown

And they say women are too emotional to be in office 🙄

A Jew stands up for his people regardless of the cost, and regardless of the politics of it. On this, Schumer has acquitted himself bravely.

So move to Israel if you want to stand up for them. They'll give you land.

[–] Apocalypteroid@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Must be tricky getting lefties to support a fascist religious ethno-state responsible for killing 50000 children in the past year alone.

If he was serious about that aim, wouldn't he be trying to stop the Palestinian genocide? That's a big factor in why so many people no longer support Israel. Bombing hospitals and daycares is never going to be popular with "your" base, Chuck.

Has he tried convincing Netentahu to not do a genocide? That'd be a lot easier than convincing a bunch of folks that they should support a genocide

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago

You'd think that, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

For establishment dems sticking with israel was always more important to them than beating trump, and chucky still cares more about israel than helping americans oppose trump's policies. The dem establishment is such a thorough failure that I hope it goes extinct

When he says that's his job, he means he makes more money doing that than he does doing his "other" "real" job.

Not many of 'his constituents' like to dwell on the fact that they're living on the graves of the murdered natives

Everyone is living on the graves if murdered people.

[–] SpicyLizards@reddthat.com 9 points 1 week ago

How's that been going chuck?

[–] rigatti@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why would he need to keep the left pro-right?

So grows the failure pile.

The only thing I take issue with here is the notion his constituents are leftists. His constituency is the entire state of NY. He should represent everyone sadly he just represents Wall Street and AIPAC’s interests.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I will give him a pass if more people called in and told him to go pro-isreal. Then yes, he was doing his job.

I don't think he got those calls honestly.

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh he's getting those calls alright. Just not from any of us peasants.
