None of you understand the reality here.

They're adding deepseek at the CPCs urging for 4 reasons:

  1. Advertising a feature

  2. Asians are more receptive to Ai than westerners

  3. National pride

  4. The cpc wants to dramatically increase its visibility of its citizens, with real time judgment and 'nudging' of their views.

Imagine having Ivanka trump in your phone 24/7 telling you what's good and how you should believe.

This is the ultimate dream of the cpc made manifest.

Now, as much as I genuinely respect what their scientists have achieved with DeepSeek, especially with limited resources and import restrictions on hardware, and how it is Open Source and all - this will most likely end up enshittifying 90% of what it touches, still, just as "AI" like that does anywhere. "Good" to see those dynamics are the same on both sides of the Pacific (and Atlantic, actually), including overvalued stocks from hype.

Also, is archive.ph down? I tried .ph and .is and both timed out for me, when I tried to generate an easy-to-share link to the article.

Deepseek is awful... It really doesn't compare to the others.

Where have I seen this before...

Samsung? Apple? Microsoft?

To be fair they were already cramming AI everywhere before this no? I recall seeing new phones over there launch with a bunch of AI hoopla, guess they just changed the model
