Amazing. For a split second i thought it was mirrored in water or something.
birding
Welcome to /c/birding, a community for people who like birds, birdwatching and birding in general! Feel free to post your birding photos or just photos of birds you found in general, but please follow the rules as outlined below.
-
This should go without saying, but please be nice to one another. No petty insults, no bigotry, no harassment, hate speech, nothing of that sort! Depending on the severity, you'll either only get your comment removed and a warning or your comment will be removed and you will be banned from /c/birding.
-
This is a community for posting content of birds, nothing else. Please keep the posts related to birding or birds in general.
-
When posting photos or videos that you did not take, please always credit the original photographer! Link to the original post on social media as well, if there is one.
-
Absolutely no AI-generated content is allowed! I know it has become quite difficult to tell whether or not something is AI-generated or not, but please make sure that whatever you post is not AI-generated. If it is, your post will be removed. If you continously post AI-generated content, you'll be banned from /c/birding (but it's obviously okay if you post AI-generated stuff once or twice without knowing you did so).

Please provide rough information location, if possible. This is a more loosely-enforced rule, especially because it is sometimes not possible to provide a location. But if you post a photo you took yourself, please provide a rough location and date of the sighting.
I was scrolling for some more Superbowls when I came across this and thought it was a perfect Friday picture. Nuthatches and the Carolina Wrens are some of my favorite birds to watch. They seem to have no understanding of gravity, and it looks like so much fun.
That photo really gave me a giggle. Funny birds.
They are my second favorite songbird, tied with the similarly behaved Carolina Wren. I have the White Breasted Nuthatches where I am, not these guys though.
They're like little cartoon characters, just walking up and down walls and across the ceiling without ever giving it a second thought. I don't know how anyone would not be amused by these little birds.
I'm glad they gave you a chuckle.
We only have Eurasian nuthatches here, fun fact I learned recently, they're the only British bird who can climb down a tree, every other bird has to fly to the bottom and climb up, that's wild to me.
I love seeing them climb down trees head first. First time I saw this I was like "wait a second there HEAD FIRST?!" I knew about short-toed treecreepers abilities as very good climbers but European nuthatches are next level.
It's weird isn't it? They're cool though.
Your nuthatches are just as nifty. I like their colored bellies!
What a wonderful shot. I love the textures
I couldn't agree more!
I found this by checking out his feed after I was reading some criticism on an owl photo during the northern lights he had shared. It seems some of the criticisms on that were likely valid, but the rest of his photos I looked at where pretty good, and this one was just too good not to share.
So much cuteness in such little bodies!
Absolutely!
Idk how I went over half my life without paying much attention to birds, and then one day I suddenly realized that they're the coolest animals on the planet. We have multiple feeders up all around our property now, and we get really excited when we see a new type of bird. I guess that's just part of getting older?
Lol I always put it on my list of old people characteristics I now seem to have.
They are pretty great! They're a ton of kinds just about anywhere you go. They're generally not scary. They sing. Most would be considered pretty. They're dinosaurs. Some you can train or befriend. And a bunch more.
They can talk, and African Parrots are able to recognize individual letters and pull them out of a stack of letters!
Next they learn Scrabble!
Keep it to 4 letter words and pigeons might join in
That is a really cool article! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah it really stuck with me. When people think of smart birds it’s usually parrot and crow families, and definitely not pigeons.
Well, seeing what passes for pigeon nests, menu aren't going to have very high expectations for intelligence afterwards! 🤣
