That one was kinda brutal. You can see that his ankle was broken just before the second hit disappeared his backpack.
Yes, brutal, but what the Russian army is doing is much more brutal.
Also: letting him live with the pain would be even more cruel I think. He would have died eventually from those injuries anyway.
