Jack Black earned enough respect from me for Tenacious D and everything else he has done, to withstand doing some family movies. If he wasn't as big influence on your life I can understand not seeing it that way though.

He's a zionist. It sucks he hid being a nazi like that for so long, and I can understand wanting to mourn, but, he's not someone anyone should still idolize or respect.

In the real world people are nuanced and complex

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works -4 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, Hitler was a vegan, genuinely loved dogs, and was once in love with painting.

Much nuance. Many complex. Totally excuses all the other stuff.

Really comparing Jack Black to Hitler now huh

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works 0 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I picked a famous complex and nuances nazi, so it seemed apt.

If jack 'those subhuman palis need to just shut up and die' black wanted to be compared to someone less nazi like maybe he should be a nazi.

You know he doesn't think that right? I can guratnee it's a similar situation to why the US govt refused to recognize Taiwan as a country. There are larger forces at play.

Does that completely remove guilt from Jack Black? Absolutely not, however it's an extreme stretch for you to assume his thoughts AND compare him to Hitler for simply agreeing to the (wrong) mainstream (and highly likely forced upon him from contracts and such) view on the situation.

See nuance and stop blindly labeling people nazis, you're devaluing the word. Be specific in your critiques of what they've done/said instead.

This isn't the 1980s where the only source of news was corporate owned propaganda networks; there isn't an excuse for ignorance at this point. Jack Black chooses to support nazis. He is a nazi. That is his active choice.

Way to completely miss all my points and straw man my argument.

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works 0 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I addressed your points. There aren't larger forces at play. He supports nazis. He is a nazi. Maybe his friends are nazis and he wants to just go with the flow. Maybe he works for nazis. Maybe he believes his contract holders are nazis so he thinks he has to be a Nazi.

None of that matters. He's a nazi even if all of that is true.

What do you think a nazi is

At worst, he's a genocide denier and useful idiot
