Betteridge's law
Is wrong in this case (according to the video)
The video starts by failing to understand what "left" and "right" even mean, suggesting that the US Democratic party is in any way left.
The list of conservative values doesn't mention racial segregation at all, which is the most core and most important conservative "value" of all.
This is the same naive failure of understanding that leads to the absolutely pointless practice of calling out Republican hypocrisy. All these true and valid arguments about freedom and independence that the video presents are absolutely meaningless to a conservative because all the conservative's talk of "freedom" is just a dogwhistle.
As Reagan aide Lee Atwater admitted (note: censorship is mine, he was saying the word):
That's what conservatism is actually about, so when you try to convince them by earnestly engaging with the abstractions, you may as well be talking to a wall.
So no, Betteridge's law is not wrong, this video creator is a sucker.
