Is there any way to change the theme for the Leta search engine? It's pretty hard to read for me; I'd rather see it in simply black text on a white background.

it's fucked up, people use this browser and get caught up in a bunch of mistakes they make and ruin their privacy and anonymity. All right, you kids ready? I'm gonna throw out a bunch of lifehacks.

  1. browser with good privacy until you touch the settings with your naughty fingers

mullvad-browser protected against a lot of identification techniques, untill you do something stupid. sites cant identify you by:

canvas fingerprint- random

webgl,webauthn devices - disabled

os - not enough data

constant data between all mullvad-browsers - language, output, input devices

cookies, supercookies, other stuff that saves on your drive - erased after you close your browser

ip - vpn ;/

I never found a site that could clearly identify me.

1.dont touch shit

dont touch your about:config and dont install a bunch of extensions, you can be identified by this, for example, your extension may modify something on page and shady script can send this back to server, and it may know about extension you using. So be carefull about this, better to just forget about extensions. Well, lets talk about good things.

  1. You can run profiles!

just start browser from your console, windows or linux, like this:

mullvad-browser -P

and you can create multiple profiles for anonymous/less anonymous/not anonymous things. profiles isolated from each other, so you can install all your scary extensions in one of profiles and enjoy your half anonymous browser with different settings for your social networks, dog, sister etc...

  1. TOUCH SHIT!

So here we are, with our half-anonimous browser, lets touch these sexy settings. (THIS WILL HARM YOUR ANONYMITY!)

go to about:config we are going to cook

A. in search bar type "letterboxing" disable everything, this will make gray frame around web page go away.

B. you can also enable security.webauth.webauthn and now you can use your security keys :>

C. privacy.resistFingerprinting.target_video_res you can ask sites for better resolution then 480!

D. turn off there options and mullvad will not break random pictures (canvas)privacy.resistFingerprinting.randomDataOnCanvasExtract

privacy.resistFingerprinting.autoDeclineNoUserInputCanvasPrompts

E. privacy.resistFingerprinting.spoofOsInUserAgentHeader

Will spoof your useragent, Dont use it to hide your ass, as i said earlier this will probably make your privacy less private.

  1. restart your browser regulary and connect to other vpn server (or change location in browser extension) if you want extra anonymity, this will erase cookies and all this dirty stuff, and you cant be tracked by ip. dont ignore DAITA
  2. be carefull with proxy extension. is saves your proxy-exit after you close your browser.
  3. if you login somewhere with your real data, privacy disapears, use tempmail and temp numbers. this way you can be tracked, but you will save a piece of your privacy.

Please research more, and dont listen to stupid people like me on the internet, look at their site, they have a lot of usefull info there, learn more about browser (it based on tor-browser). Good luck. AND DONT TOUCH SHIT!

Am I the only one whose (probably after installation of the latest version) split tunneling on MacOS has stopped working? I use split tunneling mainly for GeForce Now, and now it's unusable with a VPN

So lets say i'm not at home and i create a mobile hotspot with my android phone with mullvad on the phone turned on, so i can use my macbook and i download a linux iso image, would it be secure?

When i checked my location on my macbook it gave me my real and correct location, phone carrier and so on. So thats not secure, but would it be secure if i turn on mullvad on both devices? Wouldn't be my phone, that created my hotspot visible with my real ip, or am i save when mullvad is turned on, on both devices?

On a certain payment page, Mullvad gives a code that needs to be put in an envelope with the cash, so they know what account to give the time to. If that page is refreshed, I believe the code changes to something else. Is the original code from before the page was refreshed still valid too though?

So if someone wanted to split their payment into 2 or 3 envelopes they drop off at different locations, in case something happens to 1 envelope, could they refresh the page several times and collect a code for each envelope, or would only the latest code they see be valid?

And out of curiousity, how long does each code remain valid?

I was just wondering if Mullvad is big on advertising their service. Yesterday I saw a city bus with a fat side ad for Mullvad lol. My city isn't too far from Los Angeles but it was just strange to see that. I don't know why but I thought Mullvad was lowkey. Anyone else seen Ads for Mullvad in the wild?

i had trouble setting up a windows vm in virt-manager and having a working internet connection. On virtual box everything just worked but now on virt-manager i figured out that i had to turn on Local Network Sharing on my local host VPN and now the VM works. Is there any negatives or security risks with leaving local networking sharing on my host VPN while i use the host/VM?

What are your experiences on reliability, consistency, speed, range of locations on Mullvad VPN vs other VPNs such as Proton, Nord, ExpressVPN etc …

Do you see any distant advantage in using Mullvad VPN over others.

I've been using Mullvad for several years now, but I've noticed that many websites are increasingly requiring me to turn off my VPN to access their content. Additionally, I've encountered issues where pages just keep loading until I disable the VPN, and then they open right up.

So, why would we use VPN when we don't get access to a bunch of sites?

So I’m kinda new to this but I have an established connection to my server that I can ssh to but while I’m connected if I turn in my VPN the connection gets severed and gives me a “Port 22: Connection Refused error.

Does anyone know any solutions to this issue?

EDIT: Resolved

As the title suggests, I keep encountering this error even when my firewall is turned off. I've already allowed the application through my firewall and set it as a security rule. I've tried reinstalling and restoring, but I don't know what to do next.

Thanks fo the help. I seem to have resolved the issue by updating the DNS, reinstalling version 2025.2, and resetting the firewall. I think main thing was DNS.

Is anyone else experiencing Mullvad's DNS Adblock blocking alot of content you should just be able to see? On X alot of images are just broken because Mullvad doesn't let them load.

Pretty annoying, sometimes switching to another server helps and often it doesn't too.

I have enabled Mullvad on my ASUS router using the OpenVPN profiles. Everything works well, except for Apple Intelligence. Despite my Apple ID and my iPhone's region set to US, I can't use certain Apple Intelligence features.

Features such as Safari webpage summary require connecting to Apple's servers to run the AI, and I can use it without the VPN, but while Mullvad is active, I get the "Unsable to summarize" message, which means there is a problem with the connection.

My Mullvad VPN connection is using a US server, which I did test for WebRTC and DNS leak. Everything appears to be working except for Apple Intelligence and some heavily restricted services such as Perplexity AI.

I hope the problem is only on my side and not yours.

Hi, for the past week or so I’ve realized I can’t connect to U.S. servers. It’ll say “Connection Blocked”. When I change the server to a different U.S. server the same thing occurs. Could this be because my ISP is blacklisting the IPs? Or it could be a bug?

I only have this problem on iOS with the Mullvad App.

It makes my phone unusable and is very frustrating. No real fix until it just auto fixes itself after a few hours.
