I’ve been using Mullvad for a while and generally love it, but lately I’ve noticed that all the Norway servers I connect to seem to be detectable (e.g., by some websites or services). Not sure if it’s just me or if something’s changed on their end. Anyone know if Mullvad has plans to add new servers in Norway or maybe refresh the existing ones? It’d suck if this location stopped being reliable.

OK this might be an obscure question so not sure if anyone will be able to help, but thought I'd give it a shot anyway.

I'm running a Plex server on my new Raspberry Pi 5. I use the built-in Raspberry Pi Connect service to remote desktop into the Pi when I'm out of the house in order to manage it. It all works well at the moment, mostly.

I've been using the wireguard command line interface along with a desktop shortcut to connect to Mullvad Wireguard servers (for example us-atl-wg-201). It works well most of the time, however sometimes it will drop and mess up the connection and I won't be able to get it back until I'm home and can physically restart the Pi.

So I downloaded the Mullvad App which loads well on the Pi. I am able to connect OK, however this is when some serious UI lag kicks in while remote desktop'ing in which was not there when connecting via command line. I'm connecting to the same server.

I'm wondering why there is intense (almost unusable lag) when connecting to the WG server via the Mullvad app, but essentially no lag when connecting to the same server via command line, and if there was any way to reduce the lag when using the app?

Is there any update on the Mullvad situation in China. I know it got bad just before the two sessions. And a few days ago I found only Brazil servers are the ones I can connect to.

I just wondered if anyone has been able to connect to UK servers - a big reason for choosing Mullvad was it's ability to work and connect to my travel router so I can watch UK TV.

My credit rund out soon so I was wondering if it was worth buying or time to switch permanently to another. (LetsVPN is my back up, I would need a new first choice if Mullvad isn't fixed).

I'm not at all knowledgeable about network stuff but here's what im trying to do:

My computer is connected through ethernet to a modem that's 15m~ away. However due to this distance my phone cannot connect to the wifi signals.

And instead of immediately blowing money on a router, i thought i'd try hosting a hotspot from my pc to my phone, however my phone cannot connect to it while i'm using mullvad vpn on my pc (which is basically 24/7)

So I'm trying to find a way to split tunnel the hotspot network so that it wont be connected to the vpn network, therefore letting me connect my phone

Any suggestions?

Hello, I use Mullvad to watch series on BBC’s iPlayer, but since recently I can’t seem to get on their website anymore since it can detect I’m not in the UK. Is someone having the same issue? What settings do I need?

When I click the split tunneling option, there is no excluded app list anymore. Clicking the + sign next to an app doesn't do anything. Sometimes if I go back to the menu and reopen the split tunneling option, there will be an X and a + next to apps, but neither button seems to do anything, so I can't tell whether my apps are being split tunneled or not. I've tried restarting the app/my computer and reinstalling Mullvad, but this doesn't fix the issue. Mullvad has full disk access, so I'm not sure whether this is a known bug or something specific to me. Using version 2025.4

Hey all,

I’m having trouble getting the Mullvad encrypted DNS profile installed on my iPhone. I grabbed the mobileconfig file directly from their GitHub link, and Safari shows that the file’s downloaded, but I don’t see it anywhere in VPN & Device Management.

What I’ve tried so far:

•Checked my Downloads folder in Files and confirmed the file is there with the .mobileconfig extension. •Tapped the file both in Safari and in Files, but nothing happens—no installation prompt.

Anyone else run into this? Any ideas or workarounds? I’m on iOS 18.3.2 rn. Appreciate any help!

I am not near my machine right now to check my routing table but I discovered this yesterday that when I tried to ping something on the 192.168.x.x it was routing to 10.24.x.x and it would not go to my local router gateway. When I disable the mullvad vpn connection then I can ping stuff on my local network again. my client pc is running on 192.168.1.x local network and I tried pinging devices on a different vlan 192.168.x.x but the pings would not work. only pings going to 192.168.1.x would work. I am running with wireguard instead of ovpn protocol. Running the latest version of mullvad for windows. What could be the issue here? I was under the assumption I didn't need to add any routes myself for this to work as long as I enabled the setting in the mullvad gui for routing local traffic outside the tunnel.

I'm having a problem where Mullvad is affecting the DNS name resolution of apps and programs (python, torrent clients, etc) even though the program itself has been split tunnelled out of the VPN. Is it possible to use Mullvad for ONLY firefox? Or is there potentially another solution to this issue?

I just got a notification on my phone that mullvad vpn was installed and to open it. I uninstalled it from the play store, by why did it show up? I wasn't clicking on anything to install it?

So I plan on changing my browser and the way I use the internet to increase my security, I’m getting into cyber security and I figure there’s no better way to practice and learn than trying to be as secure as I can at all times within reason.

My plan is to run a mullvad browser with a mullvad VPN active at all times for my main browsing, streaming, emails, everyday life ect.. I know mullvad logs you out and deleted cookies after every session but would it compromise me a significant amount if I were to just use a password 1 extension?

And obviously for when I really want to be private I could dual boot into a tails distribution of Linux and and use Tor along with mullvad vpn and never log into my accounts.

I’m new to security, but is this generally a good idea? Everything works like I think it does? Or does the computer being the same one defeat the purpose?

I apologize if this has been asked many times already. If so, I would appreciate a link to the post discussing this. My Google searching is inferior. It would appear as I cannot find a direct listing for how to get these two to cooperate. I have tried going to settings then VPN settings then DNS addresses and putting in the Dotted quad DNS address for next DNS. I also tried using quad nine as a standard DNS. However, next DNS is still throwing a fit that it is not the DNS resolver. I have used other VPN services that have advanced settings for just this occasion and that is not a knock against mullvad so I am in need of clarification of if this is possible, and if so, how to implement it.

I'm having issues when moving my standalone installation of Mullvad Browser. For example, When i move the Mullvad Browser folder from documents to desktop, my bookmarks dissapear. I also tried to copy the whole folder to another place and the bookmarks also dissapear. Why does this happen? Does mullvad browser also store data in another place? like for example, appdata? Thank you for any help :)

I want to be able to use virtual desktop on my quest with my host pc (Windows 10) with mullvad enabled, but there's no way to add the virtual desktop host service to split tunnelling as the server application is a .msi file, and only exe files can be added to the split tunnelling list. Is this something I can work around, or is mullvad split tunnelling just not supposed to work with msi files? Feel free to ask questions, although I don't check reddit all the time so I might not respond until a day or so later.

Anybody else having trouble with getting Mullvad to connect after updating to 18.3.2? I was on 18.3.1 and all was well; the instant I updated my iPhone to 18.3.2, Mullvad will absolutely 100% never successfully connect. Says “NETWORK ISSUES Your device is offline. The tunnel will automatically connect once your device is back online.” Sometimes the control center will show the VPN icon cycling on and off repeatedly, even though Mullvad itself has already given up.

I’ve tried restarting, as well as deleting Mullvad and reinstalling. No dice. Other devices, including my iPad (on iOS 18.3.1) and my Mac, using the same account, continue to work flawlessly. If I switch the iPhone to using Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 app, that VPN works fine and I can access the Internet.

The only remaining remedy I can think of is to downgrade back to 18.3.1 while I still can, but that’s obviously suboptimal.

Anybody else having this problem?

This has seems to have been happening for the past 2 weeks now on any server that I try.

I know this isn't an issue with my internet connection as turning the VPN off resolves the issue. It seems to happen when connected to both wifi and ethernet

I have tested a dozen servers in North America and I always average around 300/300 on 1000/1000 ISP. I understand speed will be significantly slower due to a VPN. Using wireguard does not make a difference. Is there an artificial cap?

Hello! I was wondering if there is a way for me to access tailscale ip's when I have mullvad running. Currently when I am connected to mullvad VPN I am not able to access my tailscale network, is there a way I can split tunnel specific ip's so mullvad does not block them? Thanks. (Windows)

In Korean communities, Mullvad VPN is often considered better than NordVPN or ExpressVPN. What do you think? Leaving out extra features…

Looking at things like transparency reports or cases where authorities failed to obtain user data due to a strict no-logs policy, NordVPN seems to have more documented instances. It’s not that Mullvad VPN has none, but there just aren’t enough to be confident in their track record.

So, what makes you believe that Mullvad VPN aligns better with the core purpose of a VPN? And is there any solid evidence to back that up?
