Hello,

I am using Multihop and Daita, and the inbound/entry connection is sometimes IPv4 and other times IPv6.

Note that IPv6 is disabled in the settings, and the outbound connection is always IPv4.

Also:

When the inbound/entry connection is IPv6, Windows 11 shows an Ethernet icon. But when the inbound/entry connection is IPv4, Windows 11 shows a Wi-Fi icon.

Can someone check or explain if I have misunderstood something?

I just got the VPN today. I use windows folder sharing to access hard drives on my old pc on my new pc. Whenever I enable the Mullvad service it seems to disconnect the network share and I can't access the drives.

I'm sure it's a setting somewhere, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it.

I currently work in the US and when I go back to visit my family in Brazil I also use a VPN (due to our beautiful government and its censorship).What is the quality of the servers if someone is from Brazil for example and it is stable?

I'm thinking about subscribing to start using it. I'm currently using ProtonVPN.

ive been a customer for about 4 years and whatever is going on the past week or so should be rolled back and the team should start over. i don’t know if you’ve hired a new engineers with ideas or fired an all-star…. but roll your solutions back a month and start fresh.

if i signed up this month, i’d hate this service. tons of black listed, slow servers, terrible software releases…. its not a great look for such a beautiful company.

simply said, i dont like my vpn solution this week.

Was someone able to configure Mullvad DNS over HTTPS using Linux? I tried to follow the steps that Mullvad recommends without success. Everytime I try, I loose my internet connection.

As a sys/net admin by profession, I typically do some troubleshooting on friends and family networks when needed.

So one day, my partner suddenly lost internet booting up her PC so I come in and try to help. Spent literally 2 hours troubleshooting, and then I skimmed through an article with VPN on it and thought to open mullvad app on her pc. Lo and behold her PC suddenly connected to the internet.

This feature should really have a notification if it's activated lmao

ventoy.net is not accessible within my main browser (which I'm connected to Mullvad VPN), I split tunnel my secondary browser, still inaccessible, set that browsers DNS to Cloudflare and eventually it's accessible. DNS filtering is on in VPN settings, everything is blocked except social media. ventoy.net is not a site of ads, malware, gambling, adult, so why?

i turned on the vpn, on the latest version

it displayed "connected" but in reality only the dns is connected.

An update message appeared while I was already using the latest version(v2025.6)

i've completely re-installed mullvad app and now it works well.

was my vpn infected or was it just a bug??!

I have mullvad system wide, but I want only firefox to connect mullvad through the socks5, not the other way. Because Firefox's socks5 settings let me split tunnel a domain from being tunneled, so that way I can keep one browser for everything, also select the websites that I don't want to use VPN.

Hi, I have trouble connecting to fi-hel-wg-002 for a couple of hours already, is there a problem on Mullvad side or it's just my ISP getting freaky?

I'm new to Mullvad, only had it for a week or so, so I dont really know the ins and outs of it yet. I used surfshark for 2.5 years but switched cuz I was getting mega speed issues using it. I've noticed that if I listen to youtube music or spotify on my phone and turn off my screen with mullvad on, it'll usually finish the song, but it wont repeat a song or go to the next song until I unlock my phone. Likewise if I'm listening to a podcast or something longer a lot of the time it'll just stop after a few minutes and wont resume until I unlock my phone. If I disable mullvad, I dont have any problems.

On desktop I've also noticed that whenever my screen goes to sleep (pc still on and running in the background, screen just turns off, no hibernation) sometimes I'll got a notice in my notification bar that mullvad will disconnect when idle.

How do I stop this? I get trying to save bandwidth and potentially unknown processes connecting when you arent actively using your device, but I AM still using my device, and this is preventing me from continuing to use it. I depend on listening to music while working so I dont go insane and having to unlock my phone every couple mins just to load the next song is ridiculous.

Apart from this I've had no complaints with the service. Speeds are excellent and I cant even tell it's on.... until the phone goes into my pocket.

On June 3rd, desktop users on version 2025.6 were notified that their app was unsupported and that their privacy might be at risk

Definitely not a complaint, but I have a weird feeling that while I have my Mullvlad set to Albania (was recommended to stop YouTube ads), I feel like in general I’m getting less ads, even on Reddit or other apps. It’s weird, and I think my background processing (possibly algorithm learning) has been interrupted or frozen somehow as well, causing my phone to be more responsive! Low-key hope this is true and I hope they don’t fix it somehow anytime soon lol. For now, thank you to Albania for being so ad-free!

Is it normal for apps like YouTube and Speedtest to detect that I'm using mobile data, even when Mullvad is connected? On YouTube, I sometimes see a message like "want to save mobile data?" and in the Speedtest app, my actual ISP shows up under the provider section. However, when I check in the browser, the VPN's ISP appears instead. This only happens when I'm using mobile data - it doesn't occur on Wi-Fi. Could this be some kind of leak? (I'm using Android 14 btw).

Trying to have Plex Media Server tunneled so that Plex's Remote Access works while VPN is on. I've been able to add all (I think?) other Plex .exes but cannot get the actual plex media server app enabled.

Awareness using ads is nothing bad. Rather it's oldest form of approach to introduce something new. Talking about printing ads here. They cost a lot per board. I have seen them across various states and here on Reddit too. But what about people living in Africa? Asia? Don't they need such care too? Why only target the developed west world here? This cost should be rather spend towards helping the people who don't even know the basics of computing.

Just trying to see what everyone's experience is with their support? I've been going on circles with them, I'm starting to believe they are unable to actually write their own sentences and everything is copied and pasted from a text file. Anyway both Eric and Stefan have been a waste of time.

My problem: local network sharing doesn't always work, specifically on fedora. With local networking enabled, I still can't access the machine from my local network or connect to anything. Randomly flipping the setting on and off will sometimes resolve the issue but not always. As soon as I "disconnect" from the VPN, everything works as intended. According to Stefan this is an indication it's nothing to do with the mullvad app .. really?

On Ubuntu I don't have this issue but I also don't really run a ton of Ubuntu machines.

Is anyone aware of any logs or areas I can start debugging? If I didn't have connectivity with the app off, yes I would agree it's my problem. But with the settings enabled and everything still not working.... Points to a shitty app
