I’ve heard that the new UN Cybercrime Treaty includes provisions for strengthening international cooperation and information sharing among countries. I’m concerned about how this might impact the privacy of users on the no-log VPN like the Mullvad.

Could the expansion of information sharing frameworks under the treaty make it easier to track/surveillance VPN users and compromise their privacy?

I'm forced to disable the VPN when uploading (FTP, not torrenting) which defies the purpose of having a VPN in the first place.

Did anyone manage to find a config that retains the connection upload speed? at least most of it?

I tried many nodes, close to home, no deal.

Hi,

So I had problems with connection on multiple servers, I know for sure it's not on my side. Even downloading the installer was very slow, and my connection is like 0.5Gbps.

Anyway I emailed them few hours after purchase asking for a refund, that was already like 15 days ago, sent an email twice and 0 response.

I wouldn't recommend Mullvad VPN in 2025 to anyone. I've tried a different brand VPN now and got 0 problems.

I wanted to know if mullvad supports V2Ray VMESS QUIC on port UDP 58237, because this makes traffic look like HTTPS traffic to bypass DPI and AI-packet inspection, I would like to know this because my school blocks most other VPNs but I have found this config works, if there is a webtunnel like system in mullvad that would also work.

Hey folks,

First time poster. Did some searching on this question/setup but no luck and I'm wondering where the issue might be. My internet speeds drop to roughly 10% of normal speed when connecting to Mullvad. Usually I'm around 150 Mbps and that drops to around 15 Mbps give or take as soon as I connect.

I have tried multiple locations in both the USA and Canada with the exact same results. I have also tried multiple different settings from automatic to Wireguard to open VPN with automatic and custom ports. Exact same results every time. Whenever I connect, speed drop to 10%.

Could this be related to Starlink or Mullvad? If anyone else has Starlink are they experiencing the same degradation in speeds? If you're on starlink have you experienced the same issue with other VPN's? I would love for this issue to be on my end but I can't find anything that would cause it. I even disabled pi-hole to see if that was having an effect. Cheers.

I use wireguard mostly. Some times when I click "connect" button, servers connect instantly, but they are not actually working. I am wondering If anyone else had similar problem?

I just want to say that i have been using other VPNS which worked at first on my work, then it got blocked.. then i subscribed to another that also works as an anti malware and it worked for 3 months and got blocked, so i was about to give up but i came across MullvadVPN and i must say that thanks to the OBFUSCATION feature i am able to surf again without problems.

And you also pay for the time you want instead of annual subscriptions, which it's also a very big plus for me.

Totally recommended.

Hello. I've been trying to run multiple tunnels off one pfsense server to assign devices to tunnels via firewall rules. However, it doesn't seem to be possible. I linke the post below. Has anything changed? This seems a limitation.

10.124.0.1 almost works as another gateway, but traffic barely gets through.

I can't believe it's been years and the app is still as barebones as always.

I want to select the actual good servers as favorites, there are massive difference in speed between servers on same city. I have to remember which ones are good, and if something happens I have to manually change to another?

Why can't we have favorites and a rule to only connect to them? It's so basic.

They could do it an in afternoon. We been asking for years.

unfortunately for $5 you cant expect much more. used to be good but i guess they cant keep up with demand.

pretty sure one of the mods responded to me on a alt and i responded back that yes, it was indeed mullvad that was the issue kiddo, since without mullvad my network connection is 250-300mbps.

and with mullvad it struggles to get over 0.5-5 mbps up/down and thats insane lol. compared to what it was.

went from like 30mbps a year ago to 10mbps to now 7mbps and rarely any (mullvad)servers make it over 5

unfortunate. if anyone has any fixes pls lmk.

Is it normal to have a higher amount of "data sent" to "data received" in the "activity monitor" on a macbook? Ex. 5gb recevied to 18gb sent, 50gb received to 80gb sent, through the mullvad-daemon. Is this usual?

When I connect a mullvad and use f1tv-multiviewer, the VPN is detected and I can't play the video, but when I connect to mullvad using the mullvad extension in firefox, it plays without any problems. What is the difference? Also, is there a way or config to be able to watch it without any problems from the multiviewer?

Hey everyone.

For a week now, Mullvad hasn't responded seamlessly like the past year and a half of usage. It literally just won't get through no matter what the server and/or country used.

Just wanted to know if I was the only one ?

My API version is 2025.2

Issue remained after updating my Macbook and I have problems with different routers in different countries (Germany and France)

Also tried rebooting in different places and no solution.

I have qBittorrent running on an Ubuntu 24.04 server VM and am having trouble with the virtual network interface that Mullvad uses. On startup I have a "wg0-mullvad" interface which I bind my qBittorrent instance to. I don't know the exact time but after no longer than a day of uptime, the virtual interface disappears and is replaced by "tun0". Running mullvad status returns "Connected to se-mma-ovpn-001 in Malmo, Sweden", and I still otherwise have internet. I can get the interface back by disconnecting and reconnecting Mullvad.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, besides running a cron job to reconnect it every 8 hours or so?

I am unfortunately at the end of my rope in regards to Mullvad's lack of inverse split tunneling and need to find an alternative that supports it. Does anyone know of a VPN provider with a similar philosophy to Mullvad that has such a feature?
