The problem with modern day comic book superhero movies its has to do with the fact that they are action movie blockbusters that happen to have people with powers, with the success of the Avengers movie studios have decided to just follow the so call marvel formula with little to no change which leads to movies that all kinda look the same.

in the past movies like scott pilgrim and the rami spider-man movie were just adaptation of the source material (with some changes) so they got a lot more freedom to try to make their own style, nowdays with the decay of the MCU maybe studios will let directors have a little more freedom when adapting comic book movies but it could also not happen or they just start copying the next successful movie while learning nothing

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a last-minute plea from Native Americans seeking to challenge a massive copper mining project in Arizona that would destroy a sacred site used for tribal ceremonies, a weighty dispute that pitted religious rights against business interests.

The court turned away an appeal brought by the nonprofit group Apache Stronghold asserting that its members' religious rights will be violated if the Resolution Copper mine goes forward because it would obliterate Oak Flat, the site in question.

The Trump administration recently announced its backing of the project, which is now set to move forward.

Vicky Peacey, general manager at Resolution Copper, said in a statement that "extensive consultation" with tribes has already led to significant changes to the project.

Peacey added that the "ongoing dialogue will continue to shape the project."

Wendsler Nosie Sr., a member of Apache Stronghold, said in a statement the fight would continue.

"While this decision is a heavy blow, our struggle is far from over. We urge Congress to take decisive action to stop this injustice while we press forward in the courts," he said.

Marvel and DC's next comic crossover revealed: Deadpool and Batman — See a first look (exclusive)

Back in February, at a ComicsPro panel held in Glendale, Calif., the editors in chief of Marvel and DC revealed they were quietly assembling something they hadn't pulled off in more than two decades: a crossover event.

The time to reveal the next crossover is finally here...Deadpool, meet Batman.

EW can exclusively reveal that Marvel's Merc with a Mouth and DC's Dark Knight will collide this year, crossing swords and batarangs across a new publishing event. On the Marvel side, Zeb Wells, the Spider-Man comics scribe who recently worked on the big-screen spectacular Deadpool & Wolverine, pens a Deadpool/Batman one-shot with art and cover design by veteran artist Greg Capullo, who most recently worked on Wolverine: Revenge.

DC brings together comparable creative heavyweights to tackle their respective one-shot. Batman/Deadpool, launching later this November, hails from writer Grant Morrison, whose comics (including All-Star Superman and Batman and Son) now serve as inspiration for the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DC movie-verse, and artist Dan Mora, who, similar to Capullo, has an immense list of credits to his name. (Details on DC's story and the accompanying "backup adventures" will be announced at a later date.)

Man DC got Morrison to write their slop book, good for them honestly

This Saturday socialists from all over France and other countries including Germany, the Spanish State, Russia, the United States, Algeria, and more rallied at the Charenton Space in Paris. People lined up around the corner to enter and organizers opened up an overflow room to ensure everyone could watch the rally. In addition to the 2,000 people who attended in person, there were another 2000 individual connections virtually from across the world. Organized by Révolution Permanent — the sister organization of Left Voice and our international organization, the Trotskyist Fraction — the meeting attracted hundreds of people from Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Mulhouse, Rennes, Nantes, Strasbourg, Montpellier, Lyon, and more. Workers, young people, students, women, LGBTQ+ folks, and immigrants arrived in buses full of energy and combativeness. People were excited to gather and share their rage, but also to share their ideas, experiences, and program against the growing international Far Right and war.

The genocide in Palestine was on the minds of all those in attendence and they expressed it with emotion every time the room was overwhelmed by the chant that has spread all around the world: “Free Palestine!” Young people from all over the world wore the keffiyeh and others waved the Kanaky flag, representing the struggle against French imperialism.

Workers from different industries were there: teachers, railroad workers, healthcare workers, airport workers, and more. Folks in attendance, including members of left organizations like La France Insoumise and Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste, are part of the struggles of the French working class and the student movement, but on Saturday, they got together to protest and to rally in the name of internationalism, in the name of the international working class that, as folks attending chanted, is one and has no borders.

On this day in 1969, the Cordobazo Uprising began in the city of Córdoba, Argentina as a general strike, with workers seizing the city, burning the corporate headquarters of Citroën and Xerox, and clashing with the army.

The rebellion took place under the military dictatorship of General Juan Carlos Onganía, who had seized power in a coup in 1966. Onganía's government had suspended the right to strike, froze workers' wages, suppressed communist movements, and extended the age of retirement.

In the wake of widespread violent state repression against protesters, the labor union "CGT de los Argentinos", led by Agustín Tosco, called for national strike on May 30th, 1969. In Cordoba, the general strike and protests began one day earlier.

On the first day of the protests, police opened fire on thousands of protesters, killing a worker named Maximo Mena, causing the strike to escalate into a citywide revolt, leading to widespread destruction of property and seizing of city spaces. Onganía crushed the rebellion with the military, and Agustín Tosco was arrested for his role in the rebellion.

US and European mining companies need to hurry up and invest in Greenland otherwise it will have to look elsewhere for help exploiting its minerals, including from China, a minister for the vast Arctic territory has warned.

“We want to develop our business sector and diversify it, and that requires investments from outside,’’ Naaja Nathanielsen, Greenland’s minister for business and mineral resources, told the Financial Times.

When asked about turning to China, she replied: ‘‘We do want to partner up with European and American partners. But if they don’t show up I think we need to look elsewhere.”

The comments demonstrate Greenland’s desire to get western help to expand its economy in mining and tourism, with United Airlines due to start flying from New York to the capital Nuuk from next month.

Greenland is home to large but fairly inaccessible deposits of minerals including gold and copper, and is located in a geopolitically crucial area in the Arctic.

Nathanielsen told the FT that she found Trump’s threats to take control of Greenland “disrespectful and distasteful”. Her comments underscore the increasing anger felt by Greenlanders at Trump’s aggressive approach to the island of 57,000 people.

She said that despite Trump’s rhetoric, there was little interest from China in mining deals — right now there are only two Chinese mining companies in Greenland, but both are minority shareholders in inactive projects. She speculated that Chinese investors might be holding back because they don’t want “to provoke anything”.

Her comments come as the country hailed the awarding of its first licence under a new mining code to a Danish-French group to extract anorthosite, a mineral used in the fibreglass industry.

The €150mn mining project in Western Greenland aims to start construction as soon as next year, according to Claus Stoltenborg, chief executive of Greenland Anorthosite Mining.

The company’s backers include a Greenlandic state pension fund, Danish bank Arbejdernes Landsbank, and Jean Boulle, a French mining group.

Nathanielsen said the new four-party coalition government in Nuuk was ‘‘first and foremost committed to creating development for Greenland and Greenlanders” and would prefer to work with “allies and like-minded partners”.

Democrats have blown millions of dollars on efforts to appeal to “American Men,” who turned to President Donald Trump in droves on election day, in the hopes of winning back the working class, according to a report.

Democrats have spent $20 million on their efforts, with donors and strategists holing up in luxury hotel rooms brainstorming how to convince working-class men to return to the party, according to a New York Times report.

The plan, code-named SAM, or “Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan,” promises to use the funds to “study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces,” according to the report.

As the Times described it, the reports “can read like anthropological studies of people from faraway places.”

The effort also recommends Democrats buy advertisements in video games, among other things, the Times reported.

With the brief window for fiddlehead foraging nearing its close, citizens of the Mi’kmaq Nation hope to collect the traditional food source this week from the Aroostook River flood plain to test as part of their research into understanding, and in turn reducing, forever chemicals in the food supply.

However, they may no longer be able to afford to do the testing they’d planned.

Following months of preparation after securing federal funding in September, the team received an email from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Mission Support on May 13 stating that their four-year grant had been terminated, effective immediately.

“The objectives of the award are no longer consistent with EPA funding priorities,” the email read.

The EPA terminated all of the ten grants it had awarded for research into reducing per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances, otherwise known as PFAS, in plants and animals, including two others to Maine-based teams led by the Passamaquoddy Tribe and the University of Maine. PFAS have been linked to long term adverse health outcomes, such as cancers and weakened immune systems, and their pervasiveness in agriculture is not fully understood.

“It’s complete overreach,” said Chelli Stanley, co-founder of an organization committed to cleaning contaminated land, Upland Grassroots, which is part of the research team headed by the Mi’kmaq Nation. “We’re going to appeal. We’re also seeking legal aid.”

New Delhi, May 25, 2025: A roundtable meeting organized by the Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded an immediate halt to Operation Kagaar and urged the Union government to hold peace negotiations with the CPI (Maoist). The meeting also passed a resolution calling for the bodies of Maoist leader Namballa Kesava Rao and others killed to be handed over to their families.

The meeting was held on Sunday in protest against the “Central government’s repressive actions” under Operation Kagaar. The meeting also called for a judicial inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the Narayanpur massacre and the ongoing violence in the forests. The resolution expressed solidarity with the democratic movements opposing the corporate exploitation of forest lands rich in minerals and natural resources. It demanded constitutional protection of tribal rights and the removal of paramilitary and police camps from forest areas.

CPI leader Ramakrishna said the so-called Operation Kagaar is nothing but State repression and demanded that the Central government stop it. He reiterated that the recent encounter, which claimed 27 lives, including that of Namballa Kesava Rao, was not a real encounter but a cold-blooded government killing. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for congratulating those responsible for the killings and condemned the delay in handing over of the bodies.

CPI (M) State leader V. Umamaheswara Rao alleged that Operation Kagaar is a conspiracy to hand over forest resources to corporate entities and it involves killing Maoists and tribals. He stressed that no political party would accept the violation of tribal rights and, despite ideological differences, united struggle is needed for civil rights. He accused Mr. Modi of halting Operation Sindoor on Trump’s orders.

Dalit Bahujan Front leader Korivi Vinay Kumar said the photos of the deceased clearly indicate this was a massacre, not an encounter, and called for resistance against these brutal actions.

CPI (ML) leader Jasti Kishore Babu, CPI (ML) Liberation leader D. Harinath, MCPI leader Khadar Basha, SUCI leader Amarnath,Virasam State leader Arasavalli Krishna, P. Durgabhavani, State general secretary of A.P. Mahila Federation, IFTU’s Polari, former MLC Jalli Wilson, and the State leaders of the A.P. Agricultural Workers Union and others spoke.
