Their official plan to "combat" Trump is to do nothing to stop him, then fundraise off the chaos he creates. They're not actually trying to stand in his way, nor do they want to. They only care about the outcome of the next election, and more chaos means more donations. They don't care if working people are bankrupted or suffer in the meantime, because they've literally said they're now relying on funding from megadonors instead. Megadonors who share many financial interests with conservatives...

This, of course, is all built on the (flawed) assumption that the next elections are totally guaranteed to occur and will be super normal, completely ignoring the entire Jan 6 affair and aftermath, the sprint toward the far-right, fascism, and authoritarianism, and that SCOTUS declared POTUS to be basically god-king.

It's clearly either controlled opposition, dereliction of duty, sheer stupidity, or all of the above.

According to Trump:

LA Protesters - insurrectionists

Jan 6ers - not insurrectionists

Newsom already sent a stern letter, and now he's posted a TWEET? This is getting serious now...

LMAO. If you ignore the point I'm making in 3 consecutive comments, I'm going to assume you don't understand. You should take your own advice, you literally told me to go read about the riots!

And surely you've heard about about lemm.ee and slrpnk.net? No?

They should seize SpaceX. The US government already pays for it.

At a town hall meeting, Vidalia residents vigorously opposed the plan [to integrate schools], saying it would disrupt students’ lives and expose their children to drugs and violence.

Accepting the plan would have been a “death sentence” for the district, said Paul Nelson, a former Concordia superintendent. White families would have fled to private schools or other districts, said Nelson

“It’s time to move on,” said Nelson, who left the district in 2016. “Let’s start looking to build for the future, not looking back to what our grandparents may have gone through.”

Hmm... Something tells me it's not just something the grandparents went through...

Musk chooses who he gives money to. He's not going to give money to Bernie, who's currently rallying against oligarchs. Instead, he's going to give it to the people who are willing to push his fascist agenda. In the last election that was conservatives, but it's not like the liberals don't have freaks of their own. Money and advertising spend largely determines election outcomes, so by giving cash to politicians he likes, he can literally buy elections. Very few politicians would turn down his cash if offered, because they want the advantage it would bring. They also just have a fetish for sucking the toes of large donors.

So a reasonable government's actions on this situation would have been to heavily tax people/corporations with high number of houses.

Or, you know... Money?

Gun control does not always mean outright banning guns.

Do you think the Russian, Cuban, Chinese, and Parisian revolutionaries did not have or use guns?

What you're not understanding is that quashing a protest with force doesn't make the anger just go away.

Thankfully I don't think US authorities are anywhere close to PRC or Russia levels of force

The US is only trying to end Habeas Corpus, cracking down on free speech, personal and social freedoms, deploying military units in the streets, planting secret police in protests, and is currently kidnapping, disappearing, and sending people to foreign labor camps without trial while wearing masks and not giving any identifiable information... All while supporting and funding an ongoing internationally-recognized genocide.

Maybe you should be doing the reading...

People don't just instantly forget the moment after an event ends, especially now.

The point I was making, is that bringing in cops and the national guard to beat protesters does not restore order to a crisis caused by ICE kidnapping people. It is an escalation that will very likely be matched if CA hasn't totally forgotten their past. Which they haven't.

Not true. LAPD is not cuffing the immigrants, but they are defending ICE during the arrests and attacking protestors.
