Spotify hasn't raised their price in like ten years. I don't know what the fuss is all about.

It's information. The fuss is people make of it. I'm alright with $1/mo bump.

I couldn't remember when Spotify last raised prices. They certainly never made a habit of doing it.

Well, Spotify Duo is going up by $2, so that's not exactly it.

I had forgotten that you could pay them.

Ngl, I feel pretty smug about migrating to YTMusic last month.

The app is a worse experience than Spotify's (shocking that it's possible), but I already pay for YouTube premium, so YTMusic is basically free for me.

Also, you can't download songs on the desktop client (I have metered, spotty wifi, so this actually matters to me) and there are no first party tools to migrate playlists/likes between streaming services (not a yt problem, but an industry problem).

YTMusic is great. There's a decent number of remixes and whatever that are impossible to find on Spotify, and that alone is worth it for me.

This is true. The selection from YTMusic is likely unparalleled, because (afaik) as long as a song has been uploaded to yt, it's available through the YTMusic portal. I definitely have my complaints, but all in all I'm happy with it.

I'm also paying for YT Premium and have access to YT Music but we didn't like each other the last time I tried it. I should try it again.

I missed Spotify at first, and there are still some things about YTMusic I'm not crazy about, but I've been using it for nearly 2 months now, and it's been able to meet my needs.
