This is a no agenda less moderated variation of !climate@slrpnk.net. Moderation power is not abused and mods do not suppress ideas in order to control the narrative.

Obvious spam, uncivil posts and misinfo are not immune to intervention, but on-topic civil posts are certain to not be subject to censorship (unlike the excessive interventalism we see in the other climate community).

I pulled 4 of these bastards off of myself and a kid in the last 2 weeks. That's more than I've had to remove over entire summers in the past (both as a kid myself, and when my own kids were smaller and more prone to roll in the dirt). They are definitely everywhere now.

Also learn to identify the symptoms of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever , the other nasty thing these ticks can carry. It's easily treatable if you catch it early, but can seriously fuck you up or kill you if not.

Every hiker should carry a tick remover.

Wouldn’t it be an interesting theory if the planet was doing this to heal itself? One of the largest contributors to climate change is the massive amount of emissions for meat production. If people are suddenly allergic to meat, production slows. Production slows, fewer emissions. Fewer emissions, things stop getting worse (or do so at a slower rate).

Lmao I was sorta thinking that. Like, well, I guess the olanet is finding its own way.
