I do not understand a lot of the political fundamentals.

this fascist has more self awareness than most voters in the USA

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 53 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That thread is like the dude expressing the most American opinion in history, getting lit up and going, "you might have a point."

[–] supdawg813@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Appears to be a woman from the images in their post history. Could also be a man that likes to wear acrylics, but all available signs are not pointing in that direction.

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah that was a mistake on my end, defaulted to gendered language. Apologies.

[–] Parzivus@hexbear.net 81 points 3 days ago (1 children)

All the fash options in Disco are either being racist or misogynistic. There's some nationalism but it's mostly racism too. Come on

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 49 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Come on

After reading the thread, some of the feels right seem to also be what they think was required to move the story forward, for example, placating Measurehead.

NGL only way I found to get past him that didn't involve being racist was high-rolling to sock the bastard lmao, even then I crashed and had to save scum it two dozen times to do it again.

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 36 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Just take off your pants and jump off the roof. Easy breezy, lemon squeezy in your tighty whities.

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 20 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I genuinely cannot tell if you're taking the piss rn.

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 34 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

You can get past Measurehead bygetting onto the roof of the Whirling-in-Rags, hopping over to the roof of Leo's guard post, and jumping into the Harbour.
It's a Savoir Faire skill check, so taking off the default Flare-cut Trousers slightly improve your success chances.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 16 points 3 days ago

All those scabs could've been earning money if they just put a few points into savoir-faire.

[–] CommunistBear@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago

The one time I tried that I ate shit on the roll and immediately died. I figured I was the wrong build or something to use that route

[–] TheLastHero@hexbear.net 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

no piss here, there's a de-savoir-faire check up there to avoid measurehead entirely

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 days ago

That's how I got through mine.

[–] Goblinmancer@hexbear.net 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If I remembred Kim doesnt really judge you if you use the placate route, like he asks you if you really believe all that nonsense measurehead says and you can say no. In fact the game doesnt even give you fascist points for that if i remember (presumably because you can potentially fuck up the 2 skill checks to avoid having to placate measurehead) I didnt know that you can sneak past measurehead in my first playthough and Kim still refers to my Harry as a commie by the end.

So you really have to out of your way to make Kim refer you as fash

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I really need to finish Disco one of these days.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago

Ah the just following orders

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 78 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The average "apolitical" American would have supported the Nazi party in Weimar Germany

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 54 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The average "apolitical" American supports the current Nazi party.

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 4 points 3 days ago

There's only one party, but in typical American extravaganza their two of them.

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 46 points 3 days ago

hes not racist. he’s just “realistic”. he isnt right wing and isn’t political either. he just thinks all the same stuff as fascists

he’s just a chill guy

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 56 points 3 days ago

After reading the thread, standard 'hasn't had to think hard about it' American by the looks of it. The real big one is the "centrist" stance that seems derived from a lack of political understanding more than any ideological commitment to centrism.

[–] Llituro@hexbear.net 57 points 3 days ago

getting a political awakening from disco elysium reading you to filth. y'know, there are probably less effective means of being prompted to develop political consciousness. maybe they'll want to read enough that kim won't call them a fascist? kitsuragi-dance

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 51 points 3 days ago

incredible self report tbh

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 49 points 3 days ago

Understanding this game better as a non-political person?

Read thinkin-lenin

[–] culpritus@hexbear.net 40 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm apolitical, and I only enjoy the classics like Birth of a Nation and Triumph of the Will.

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 3 days ago

Getting home from work and reading that made me laugh. Thanks.

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 41 points 4 days ago

New political cum piss just dropped

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 39 points 3 days ago

Just a fascist out of pure luckshrug-outta-hecks

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 30 points 3 days ago

I do not understand a lot of the political fundamentals.

This has to be a troll, self-aware chuds are literally one in a million

[–] sleeplessone@lemmy.ml 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This reminds me of when I tried a fash run. I put all of Harry's stats in physical and speed stats and nothing in the intellectual and emotional stats. Fash Harry was so dumb that he never learned what the Pale was and couldn't do the vision quest.

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

You know, for all the things that the game has; that's actually not too far off. I've known a lot of those types that introspection is something that is non-existent. I genuinely think having a level of introspection beyond kindergarten is something that is nearly required to apply logic to empathy and thus have better political ideals than "people in concentration camps make my gas cheaper".

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 3 days ago

measurehead? he seemed like a really well meaning guy idk

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 24 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I think this is an old post, but generally it's a good opportunity to educate someone on the political meaning of what they defaulted to, because it might help them realize they have some negative attitudes. They clearly seem concerned about being consistent with fascism.

[–] Aradino@hexbear.net 20 points 3 days ago

They seem to be taking things to heart.

Though they might just be gullible as fuck. Who knows?

[–] corvidenjoyer@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago (3 children)
[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh, then it's a good chance now for someone who has a Reddit account . . .

[–] ThermonuclearEgg@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)
[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago

That doesn't impact the ending and he was just saying it to get past Measurehead. I don't think it's indicative of much of anything. I probably would have done the same if I didn't manage to pass the check to knock him out instead.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago

Interesting thread.

Time for some work.

But I'm a part of the Moralintern, I can't be accused of reactionary beliefs and actions!

[–] BadTakesHaver@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

at the end of the fascist run do you fight Disco Elysium's version of sans? sans-undertale

[–] VibeCoder@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

spoilerThe fascist run punishes you throughout. It’s actually more difficult because choosing fascist options regularly embarrasses you and damages your health and morale. The only run that has a different ending is the moralist ending where Harry is identified as the next Innocence and escorted onto an airship to be killed by the Moralintern. But even then it’s more of an implication than direct text iirc.
