I don't like Colorado's 60f/15.5c weather. Every day is at or above the record temperature. The Rockies are dry even if we hit our annual snowmelt targets from the wettest spring since 1974. Flowers are blooming and trees are budding 1-2 months early when our final snow storm is usually in early May. Unless we get another catastrophically wet spring/summer, I think we're set for a very long and intense wildfire season.

at this rate living anywhere south of like kentucky in the summer you're running the risk of being murdered by a wet bulb event

Fuck, the temperature in the factory was almost nice recently with how cold it has been. Now I'm going to sweat again 😞

Even better, some of those areas had negative windchill earlier in the week. Yay 2 70 swings in a week

It’s like the force field thing in FUCK I forget the name of the movie. The one with the trees or whatever that get spliced with human HOX genes, and the weird fractal alien, and the weird fucking ending.

annihilation but also that movie is trash, book is amazing

[–] Maoo@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

I enjoyed the movie but the book series is way better

[–] allthetimesivedied@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But also the word annihilation is cool.

You'll love the rest of the novels then, their titles are excellent. Annihilation, Authority, then Acceptance.

There's supposed to be a 4th book coming this year iirc. New characters

Reminds me of Threshold, an I think it was CBS creepy scifi series that ended too soon; it was supposed to be followed by Foothold and Stranglehold. The name of the first two episodes, Trees Made of Glass, has stuck with me.

The show had this creepiness to it that was pretty cool.

Oh god, reading through the episode synopses and it reminds me of this insane ass novel, Three Hundred Million by Blake Butler.

The fractal 4D alien thing was stupid.

Geriatrics will deny this

My cat was very upset that I was able to open the window one day but not the next

What is this in a real temperature measurement?
