This is a satire account. Read the username from the tweet. Delete this post.

This is an incredibly common issue on the internet as a whole, but particularly on lemmy. But I don’t blame them. I used to, but then trumpcoin, followed by the plane, and the host of human rights violations of the last few months, and trump promising to bring MMA to the white house, and his approval ratings dropping only like 2% has led me to understand.

I just reflect on the recent past every time I see Lemmy bite the onion, and I feel a little worse about the world. I don’t recommend it.

We live in such a bizarre world that tramples on precedent constantly that I also don't blame anyone for believing it, but I do however think people who spread info have a further degree of responsibility to vet it, and those who recognize misinformation should hopefully fight it.

You’re right, but I never pass up an opportunity to doom about the state of society

It's messed up that so many people believe it. I belived it! I'm not on speaking terms with my mother any more since I had a conversation with her about his "grab em by the pussy" comments and her willingness to forgive him for that, despite his obvious lack of contrition. I can 100% believe that there are people out there that would forgive him raping their daughter.

I don't speak to my mother's entire side if the family because they are like this. It's not just rump either.

I've seen more women forgive their husbands and blame the daughters, than women hold their husbands accountable and protect their daughters. I've met families where the known family rapists is just as welcomed as his victims and they all play happy family to the neighborhood eyes.

I also know there are people that would forgive him for raping their daughter. They might even feel pride about it because he chose theirs. Excuse me, I just puked.

This may be satire, but it's really holding hella societal truths.

Perhaps leaving the post up with the comments can be better than deleting it? As a learning experience

You're fighting a losing battle, lemmy mods need content no matter how shitposty and most lemmings don't care if its satire or not they just want a license to hate

I have seen a mother that is being held by ice say that she still supports trump and knows that she will be safe because she is a good christian. I have seen multiple people say that even if trump was on the list they would support him. Those were not satire accounts. If people are still MAGA at this point they are worthy of contempt because there is nothing that can be done to save them from a cult they believe in so firmly.

I think they are worthy of a lot more legal based action than just contempt and hanging is still on the books for treason

I think doing away with public hangings may have led to where we are, where no one fears consequences for anything
