I saw a really great comment/take on a thread for the movie that pointed out: if DC had balls they would really contrast Superman's experience as an Immigrant with the black coded and/or presenting Martian Manhunter. Superman is white, conventionally attractive, and fully assimilates which leads to his story being emblematic about the beauty of immigration and the American dream...whereas J'onn often has to literally mask and hide his true nature to avoid Ostracization.
I never liked martian manhunter (or superman. or DC for that matter) but I would watch the fuck out of this.
in 70 years i'm sure there's been a dozen panels about that
