They used to drag out bosses on Sunday dinners in front of their families onto the front lawn and beat the shit out of em. The DoL, AFL-CIO, Taft-Hartley were all concessions by labor to turn the temperature down on the labor struggle in exchange for some institutional protections. So, uh, if they wanna go back to status quo ante by all means

Hearing the stories from the old guys in my union from even back when the protections were in place makes me so jealous. Wildcat strikes over things that wouldn't even make it to the negotiation table these days. Smashing windows and blowing tires over scab workers

Watching The Grand Tour's French episode made me realize how awesome some parts of French culture is. They do not let labor get fucked with.

After many re-watches still not sure that's what they were going for when showing off all the ways the French go out to strike or deal with shitty leaders
