So he's 'close' with Saudi Arabia and the US, must be a stand-up guy. Luckily it's only a mostly ceremonial position.

Good if he actually goes through with it, will the US let him do much to resist Israeli aggression?

Why do I feel this is coded phrasing for austerity measures that will hurt the people.
